For the photo editing tool GIMP can be the alternate of Photoshop. Although at first it might be a little confusing but over time you will get used to with it. The main important thing is, GIMP is free. Yes, that’s right, you can use a great Photoshop like tool for completely free. After using MAC OSx 10.7.x aka Lion I was missing GIMP as GIMP doesn’t have a version for Lion. However, I’ve played with some old versions and found GIMP 2.6.11 for Leopard works great on Lion.

Just go to http://gimp.lisanet.de/Website/Download.html and download the GIMP 2.6.11 for Leopard version on your Lion. I’ve tried the Snow leopard and Tiger version but that doesn’t work for me.

   I am downloading version 2.8.2 for Lion and Snow Leopard, and see if it works with my Lion 10.7.5 as claimed, but I’m downloading version 2.6.11 for Mac Leopard, just in case the former fails to work with my Lion.
